WATERLOO, ONTARIO, Jun 16 (MARKET WIRE) --
TURBOSONIC TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (OTCBB: TSTA), a leading provider of clean
air technologies, today announced the receipt of a US $4 million order
from Uniboard for its Moncure, NC new medium density fiberboard (MDF)
facility. Uniboard is a subsidiary of the Pfleiderer Group, a German
conglomerate with 22 engineered wood plants worldwide. Completion of the
contract is scheduled for September 2009.

The contract is for the design, supply and installation of patent-pending
Catalytic Gas Treatment (CGT) technology for control of volatile organic
compounds (VOCs), primarily formaldehyde and methanol, from a drying
process. TurboSonic is working with ProCD Groupe Conseil, who
co-developed the CGT technology with Uniboard. Quebec-based ProCD is an
engineering firm specializing in the development of industrial processes.
Uniboard is a leading fiberboard, particleboard and melamine manufacturer
who already has similar CGT units in operation in two of its plants.

Rather than utilizing traditional thermal destruction technologies
utilizing costly natural gas to thermally oxidize formaldehyde and other
VOCs, generating large amounts of greenhouse gases, the patent-pending
CGT technology utilizes an environmentally friendly catalytic process to
destroy VOCs without the production of harmful, combustion-related
greenhouse gases (GHGs) and smog-producing nitrogen oxides.

Edward Spink, TurboSonic CEO, noted, "Given the US EPA's recent
pronouncement that CO2 is a major hazard to public health and welfare,
the timing of the installation of this technology couldn't be better. Not
only does it eliminate combustion-related GHG emissions, but also we
believe that these installations will qualify for carbon credits under
the proposed US cap and trade regulations. When combined with the return
on investment created from fuel savings, we believe the payback on CGT
projects in wood products and many other industries requiring VOC control
will be very attractive. In contrast to carbon sequestration, which
typically focuses on the capture, use, or storage of CO2, this CGT
technology avoids CO2 creation in the first place, which is a much more
desirable, cost-effective solution."

TurboSonic Technologies (www.turbosonic.com) designs and markets air
pollution control technologies to industrial customers worldwide. Its
products help companies in the Cement and Mineral Processing, Ethanol,
Metals & Mining, Petrochemicals, Power Generation, Pulp & Paper, Waste
Incineration, and Wood Products industries meet the strictest emissions
regulations, improve performance and reduce operating costs.
