Company`s Increased Momentum in Texas Driving 94,000-Square-Foot Houston West
Campus
HOUSTON--(Business Wire)--
CyrusOne, the leading Texas enterprise data center colocation provider,
announced today that it plans to build and operate an initial 94,000-square-foot
high-availability, high-density, data center in West Houston, with the option to
expand by adding an additional 100,000 square feet on the adjacent land. The
company will continue to lead in total data center square footage in Texas with
seven facilities totaling 480,000 square feet, including three facilities in
Houston, three in Dallas and one in Austin.

"Since our entrance into the Houston market in 2001, we have built a strong
momentum within the energy, financial services, and technology industries, as
companies are realizing the benefits of data center colocation, including
scalability of infrastructure, deferred capital expenditures associated with
building a data center and increased availability of critical applications,"
said David Ferdman, President and CEO, CyrusOne. "Our decision to build a third
data center facility in Houston is based on increased local, national and
international customer demand as companies are restructuring their data center
strategies in an ever-changing economy."

"In the fourth quarter of 2008, following the stock market crash in October,
businesses began to change their strategy for acquiring data center space," said
Lydia Leong, Research Director Gartner Research. "As a result, demand for
colocation is increasing due to capacity constraints, business uncertainty and
lack of capital to support data center construction projects."

Located along the North West Beltway, between I-10 and 290, CyrusOne`s West
Houston data center will be a "greenfield" project, built from the ground up by
the company`s construction team, offering the highest power redundancy (2N
architecture) and highest power-density infrastructure, supporting 250+ watts
per square foot across the entire data center floor. The facility is
strategically positioned with access to significant and redundant utility power
feeds and access to the fastest and most reliable telecommunications networks,
as it is located along a major fiber corridor in Houston.

Built to sustain typical and potential Houston weather risks, the hardened
facility is outside the FEMA 500-year flood plain and will have a reinforced
roof and concrete walls. The facility will have significant physical security
features including perimeter fencing, dual authentication, biometric access
systems, digital closed circuit monitoring systems, and 24x7 security guards. It
will also incorporate CyrusOne`s sophisticated building management systems
designed to proactively monitor all of the mechanical and electrical systems in
the building.

CyrusOne offers the highest-density data centers in the Southwestern United
States, currently supporting server installations that utilize up to 1,000 watts
of power per square foot, versus traditional 120 watts per square foot, offered
by competitors. This high density enables customers to confidently implement
more sophisticated applications and handle larger volumes of mission-critical
information, a trend that will grow even more important in the years to come.

All of CyrusOne customers require a unique high-availability data center
requirement to ensure 100 percent uptime of mission-critical applications. The
company has traditionally appealed to a wide variety of companies including many
of the largest Global 100 companies as well as a variety of technology service
providers.

The CyrusOne data centers represent the largest high-density, fully redundant
collocation facilities in the Southwestern United States. The facilities are
designed for zero downtime. They accommodate the latest server technologies in a
fully redundant, 2N power and cooling configuration. CyrusOne engineers all data
centers with multiple levels of uninterruptible power supplies and diesel
generators.
