ATLANTA--(Business Wire)--
DocuSys, Inc., a market-leading provider of innovative systems for anesthesia
information management (AIMS), medication management and presurgical care
management, announced today that it has signed an agreement with Southeast
Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) in Dothan, Alabama, a 370-bed regional referral
center, to transition maintenance from their current vendor and to upgrade to
the latest version of the DocuSys Anesthesia and Drug Management Suite. SAMC has
also purchased DocuSys` Presurgical Care Management System, an advanced surgery
solution that assesses patient risk and ensures patient readiness for surgery by
tracking that all presurgical testing has been completed and reviewed prior to
the day of surgery. Through the use of advanced clinical systems like these from
DocuSys, Southeast Alabama Medical Center has achieved the reputation of
providing the best diagnostic, clinical, surgical and patient care services
available in the Tri-States area.

"With unanimous agreement within the Department of Anesthesia at Southeast
Alabama Medical Center, we are very excited about our decision to transition our
maintenance agreement from our prior vendor to DocuSys. We have worked very
closely with DocuSys over the past five years to provide the anesthesia
practitioner feedback that is crucial in order to optimally refine any
anesthesia electronic management system in a manner that successfully addresses
our specialty's unique and complex requirements. Version 7.0 of the DocuSys
solution, which we upgraded to earlier this month, far exceeds our expectations
and demonstrates how collaborative design relationships between clinicians and
vendors can lead to a far more superior solution," said Jeffrey Plagenhoef,
M.D., President, Anesthesia Consultants Medical Group and Immediate Past Chair
Department of Anesthesia and Past Chair Quality Council at SAMC. "We are also
looking forward to the implementation of the DocuSys Presurgical Care Management
System, which will provide us with the only electronic presurgical patient
preparation system available combining evaluation, screening and guidance on
clinical management. A key component of this system is the ability to collect,
from any location with internet access, a comprehensive medical history on the
patient, which is then used to calculate the patient`s medical, surgical, and
anesthesia risk and to determine through preconfigured protocols patient
preparation for surgery (labs, consults, preop meds, etc.). This will result in
fewer errors and omissions and will provide much greater consistency and quality
in the preoperative preparation of surgical patients. This information will be
available to all perioperative clinicians the day of surgery so that everyone
has the same comprehensive patient information. The overall impact on quality,
safety and efficiency is expected to be tremendous."

"We previously provided our solution to SAMC through a partnership and are
delighted to now have this innovative customer receiving maintenance services
directly from DocuSys. They have been a great organization to work with over the
past few years on the design of our solutions and we are excited to see them
implementing more of our market leading anesthesia and surgical solution," said
DocuSys President and Chief Executive Officer Robert Watson. "SAMC`s commitment
to putting the right solutions in the hands of their clinicians should be
applauded. They are always leading the way in improving the delivery of quality
patient care."
