SUNNYVALE, CA, Jun 16 (MARKET WIRE) --
Zoran Corporation (NASDAQ: ZRAN) announced its IPS print language
interpreter software has been optimized for improved performance of
printers and multifunction peripherals (MFPs) based on energy-efficient
multicore processor architectures. See related Quatro processor news
release with today's date.

Multicore CPUs have become standard in personal computers and are now
being implemented by manufacturers of printers and MFPs to increase
performance and capabilities while minimizing product cost and energy
consumption. To achieve high utilization of embedded multicore
processors, the IPS software has been enhanced to divide processing tasks
into independent functions that can be executed in parallel.

Zoran's IPS software is the only solution that has been optimized for
embedded multicore CPU architectures including Zoran's new Quatro(R) 4500
family, Freescale's Power Architecture and other widely adopted processor
families. Testing of the optimized IPS software on several dual-core
systems, using industry test suites, has shown an average of 60 percent
improvement in printing throughput as compared to single-core processors
at the same clock speed.

"Zoran recognized early that embedded processor technology would shift to
multicore architectures and proactively invested in enhancing our IPS
software to support a broader set of manufacturers and print devices,"
said Tom Mager, vice president of software engineering, Zoran's Imaging
Division. "The combination of multicore-optimized IPS print language
interpreters and the Quatro 4500 family demonstrates Zoran's continued
focus on providing customers with tightly integrated hardware and software
solutions that dramatically improve performance and add real value. Zoran
is the only provider of solutions that include both multicore processors
and print language interpreter software."

The Early Adopter Program (EAP) release of this solution is available now
to qualified customers. Additional optimizations will be made available in
upcoming releases due later in 2009. Manufacturers that are interested in
multicore-optimized IPS print language interpreters should visit
www.zoran.com or contact a sales representative at 781-791-6000.
