SonicWALL Delivers Secure Remote Access for ABHOW Retirement Community
Organization

American Baptist Homes of the West Deploys SonicWALL SSL-VPN 2000 Appliances
For Clientless Secure Remote Access and Disaster Recovery

SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SonicWALL, Inc. (Nasdaq:
SNWL), a leading secure network infrastructure company, today announced
American Baptist Homes of the West (ABHOW), a leader in continuing care
retirement communities, has deployed two SonicWALL SSL-VPN 2000 appliances to
provide clientless secure remote access as a part of their disaster recovery
strategy.

"SonicWALL made it very easy to scale remote access to meet our needs," said
Brett Ortega, Network Engineer at ABHOW. "As a not-for-profit, we certainly
value price as well as what we're getting for our money. SonicWALL simply
offers a superior product for an affordable price."

Servicing nearly 4,500 residents living in 30 communities across four Western
states, ABHOW has over 2,300 employees, including network users who work out
of their homes in various cities nationwide, and road warriors who are in and
out of the office. The SSL-VPN 2000 enables authorized ABHOW users nationwide
to securely access e-mail, files, intranets, business applications, desktops
and servers from any location.

Ortega deployed ABHOW's first SonicWALL SSL-VPN 2000 to provide clientless
remote access to its employees. A second SonicWALL SSL-VPN 2000 was deployed
to provide clientless remote access to ABHOW's dedicated disaster recovery
site. In case of disaster, authorized ABHOW users may either log into a Web
portal for SSL VPN access to Web-based applications, or transparently download
a SonicWALL NetExtender thin client to access more complex or custom
applications.

The SonicWALL SSL-VPN 2000 integrates seamlessly into virtually any network
topology. With no need for a pre-installed client, deployment and ongoing
maintenance costs are eliminated. Advanced security functionality such as
SonicWALL Virtual Assist clientless remote support, tokenless two-factor
authentication and rich access-privilege management enable any organization to
securely extend resources to authorized users.

Ortega considered Cisco solutions, but found that SonicWALL was much simpler
to configure and customize, while still more robust in its functionality.
"SonicWALL is extremely easy to implement and administer," said Ortega.
"Because the interfaces and operating systems are similar, implementing new
devices has been easy."

Ortega has also established site-to-site VPN connections between fixed
locations using SonicWALL TZ Series UTM firewall appliances, which enabled
ABHOW to cut costs by using DSL or cable circuits rather than paying for
higher-priced T1 lines. Using SonicWALL secure VPN connections when
transmitting personal health information also helps ABHOW comply with HIPAA
regulations.

Ortega plans to continue using SonicWALL as ABHOW's VPN and firewall security
partner. "I'd highly recommend SonicWALL," said Ortega. "From sales to
support, they give you a clear feeling of partnership and a willingness to
help."
