Experienced Virginia Litigator Joins Nelson Mullins in Washington

WASHINGTON--(Business Wire)--
Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP has added Virginia litigation to the
range of services offered by the Firm's Washington, DC office. George E. Kostel,
a federal litigator with a nationwide practice, has joined the Firm's Washington
office as a partner. He has extensive experience in the Eastern District of
Virginia (known as the Rocket Docket), as well as in Northern Virginia's state
courts. 

In over 15 years of practice, Mr. Kostel has had nearly 20 of his cases decided
by published opinions. He has tried almost a dozen jury cases and 30 bench
trials. His representative cases include software development and licensing
matters, trademark and Lanham Act suits, products liability defense, claims by
creditors, construction and franchise litigation, defamation suits, and trade
secret and non-compete claims. 

His civic activities include serving as a Director of the Alexandria Chamber of
Commerce and a member of its Government Relations Committee. As an Old Town
resident active in Alexandria civic affairs, Mr. Kostel was recently appointed
by City Council as a Commissioner on the Historic Resources Commission. He also
serves William and Mary law school on various committees. 

Also active in the Wesley Housing Development Corporation (an affordable housing
provider with nearly $100 million in assets), he has served on the board since
2002 and was the board chairman from 2005-2007. He continues to chair its Legal
Committee. 

He earned his Juris Doctor in 1992 from the College of William and Mary. He
earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Vanderbilt University in 1988.
