The SDR Forum Announces Board Appointments of Claude Bélisle and Eric Christensen at General Meeting

DEARBORN, Mich.--(Business Wire)--
The SDR Forum, a non-profit member consortium dedicated to promoting the success
of next-generation radio technologies, announced at its 63rd General Meeting in
Dearborn, Michigan the appointment of Claude Bélisle as Chair of the Technical
Committee and of Eric Christiansen on the Board of Directors, representing the
Large Companies. 

Claude Bélisle has been appointed Chair of the Technical Committee by The SDR
Forum Board of Directors. Mr. Bélisle, a long-standing Director of the SDR Forum
and chair of the SCA Working Group, is the Vice-President of the Satellite
Communications and Radio Propagation research branch of the Communications
Research Centre Canada. Mr. Bélisle leads research activities in satellite
systems and radio propagation providing technical support to Canadian government
departments and helping industry through technology transfer activities. "I am

Dr. Eric Christensen of General Dynamics C4 Systems has been appointed by The
SDR Forum Board of Directors as an at-large director, to fill the board vacancy
left by Dr. Fette. Dr. Christensen is the Chief Software Engineer in the
Communications Networking Division, Assured Communications Systems business area
of General Dynamics C4 Systems in Scottsdale, Ariz. He has been with the
business unit 13 years working in Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology
developing SDR infrastructures and waveforms and porting waveforms. Dr.
Christensen has been involved in SDR development beginning with the SpeakEasy
program and the Programmable Modular Communications System (PMCS) guidance
document, the forerunner to the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) Software
Communications Architecture (SCA). Dr. Christensen has been a contributor to The
SDR Forum since 1998 as an author presenting papers and tutorials. 

In addition to these changes to the Board, the SDR Forum announced that Dr. John
Glossner of Sandbridge Technologies has accepted an appointment as General Chair
of the SDR 09 technical Conference and Product Exposition. These changes have
occurred following the departure of Dr. Bruce Fette, formerly of General
Dynamics, from the SDR Forum Board of Directors as a part of his transition to a
senior research position with the US Government. The SDR Forum thanks Dr. Fette
for his 14 years of service and wishes him well in his new endeavors.
