Environmental Data Resources, Inc. Evolves to New Social Networking Platform
to Better Position Its Online Business Community for Growth
Commonground continues to expand in membership and global reach of
environmental and property due diligence professionals
MILFORD, Conn., June 16 /PRNewswire/ -- A year after its debut of
commonground, the global social network for environmental due diligence
professionals, Environmental Data Resources, Inc. (EDR) has re-launched its
award-winning community with many new features that will enable it to serve a
broader audience.
"EDR first committed to building commonground (http://commonground.edrnet.com)
because we understood that social networking was the future of business
interaction on a global scale," said Jay Gaines, EDR's chief marketing
officer. "The flexibility available through our new provider, HiveLive,
enables us to much more easily adapt to the needs and demands of our members
and provide a user-friendly and more relevant community to a broader
audience."
In its first year, commonground harnessed the membership and expertise of
several thousand environmental professionals representing more than 1,600
companies worldwide. The goal of the new platform, according to Gaines, is to
broaden the depth and breadth of discussions and networking among
environmentally-focused individuals ranging from property due diligence
professionals, attorneys, appraisers, lenders, industry leaders, market
experts and the next generation of environmental professionals entering the
workforce from leading colleges and universities.
New features will include Due Diligence University, an e-learning component; a
member's ability to form public and private groups; an expanded job board; a
global industry provider directory, market metrics and research, and much
more. Additional improvements to the award-winning community include advanced
search functionality, simplified navigation, industry community calendars,
targeted industry and market news, content ratings and reviews, plus an easy
to follow support section for new social networkers.
Launched in April 2008, commonground includes professionals from 67 countries
and all 50 states. Membership is free and the benefits include real time
answers from peers and experts on pressing and often challenging questions,
access to ongoing discussions and blogs in which ideas are shared and debated
on market issues, trends, and legislation, and hundreds of focused documents,
research reports, and articles.
