World Refugee Day Celebration: June 20th 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at St. Andrew's
Lutheran Church

COLUMBIA, S.C., June 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A Celebration of World
Refugee Day will be held at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
on Saturday, June 20, 2009. The event is hosted by Lutheran Family Services in
the Carolinas (LFS Carolinas) and will include art, food and dance
performances from refugees who have resettled in South Carolina.

WHY: The United States continues to be the single largest refugee resettlement
country in the world. The celebration in Columbia honors the many
contributions made by refugees in South Carolina.

LFS Carolinas has served the Carolinas' most vulnerable people since 1976. The
agency grew from the roots of Lutheran Orphanage of the South, founded in 1888

LFS Carolinas provides safe haven for children in crisis, adults with special
needs, refugees, and individuals and families at risk of becoming homeless or
