WBBA Announces Stacie D. Byars as Director of Marketing and Membership

SEATTLE--(Business Wire)--
The Washington Biotechnology & Biomedical Association (WBBA), the Pacific
Northwest`s leading life sciences association, announced today that Stacie D.
Byars has joined the organization as Director, Marketing and Membership. 

"Stacie adds more than 20 years of experience in biotechnology, medical device
and high-tech marketing, corporate communications and investor relations to the
WBBA team," said WBBA President Chris E. Rivera. "Her insight and expertise will
be instrumental as we focus on delivering intrinsic value to our more than 450
members and continue in our mission to support the growth of the life sciences
industry in the Pacific Northwest." 

As Director of Marketing and Membership, Byars will develop and direct WBBA`s
messaging and communications strategies to promote positive image, optimize
media opportunities and cultivate strategic relationships, as well as build a
comprehensive marketing program for membership development, recruitment and
retention.

independent agency focused on the development, implementation and evaluation of
communications strategies. Since 2006, she provided strategic consulting
services for public, private and non-profit organizations including: BiPar
Pharmaceuticals, Orexigen Therapeutics, Elan Pharmaceuticals, McKesson
Specialty, Targeted Genetics Corporation, Celladon Corporation, Calistoga
Pharmaceuticals, and Northwest Association for Biomedical Research, BioCentury
Publications, Argenta Reimbursement Advisors, University of Washington
Biotechnology and the Biomedical Technology Institute. She also held corporate
communications and investor relations positions for Targeted Genetics
Corporation, Nastech Pharmaceuticals, NeoRx (now Poniard) and NeoPath (now
TriPath Imaging). 

Ms. Byars received her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of
Washington Bothell. She also served in the United States Navy in both domestic
and international training commands.
