SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Jun 16 (MARKET WIRE) --
MuleSource, the leading provider of open source service oriented
architecture (SOA) infrastructure software, today announced that
E-Markets, the leading supply chain management tools provider for the
agrifood industry, has selected Mule ESB Enterprise to integrate its
internal processes with external client systems.
E-Markets provides e-commerce solutions that streamline back-office
processes, enable information sharing, and eliminate barriers between
buyers and sellers across the agrifood value chain. E-Markets tools are at
work in over 6,000 businesses in the United States, and transactions using
E-Markets tools total over $2 billion since 1996. The deployment of Mule
ESB provides improved integration capabilities for the company's order
management system. Previously relying mainly on file-based integration,
the system is now able to expose some of its processes to client systems
via a Web Services interface.
"Mule ESB allows us to integrate disparate systems quickly without having
to write and maintain a lot of glue code or change our domain model to
accommodate external or newly developed systems," said Matt Goodwin, Vice
President of Technology, E-Markets. "In addition, with a Mule ESB
Enterprise subscription, we have access to enterprise-class features that
will become important as we scale our implementation. Furthermore, we
have the support that we need to make sure we are fully productive and
can address any issues that arise during development or production."
E-Markets is dedicated to deploying open source software where possible,
benefitting from the inherent accessibility and low total cost of
ownership of the open source approach. The organization initially
evaluated a few different open source integration solutions, including
Apache ServiceMix, but quickly chose Mule ESB based on its ability to
solve E-Markets' integration problems with the minimum of disruption to
existing development practices.
"E-Markets is laser-focused on improving profitability for their customers
in the agrifood industry," said Phil Bradley, vice president of Sales,
MuleSource. "With Mule ESB Enterprise, they are able to focus their
valuable time and resources on solving customer problems rather than on
their infrastructure software."
