British American Tobacco buys 85pc stake in Bentoel

HONG KONG, June 17 (Reuters) - British American Tobacco Plc. BATS.LN has acquired an 85 percent stake in Indonesia's fourth-largest cigarette maker by volume for $494 million, according to a source close to the matter.

BAT would eventually launch a tender offer to purchase all of PT Bentoel International Investama (RMBA.JK), the source said. (Reporting by Michael Flaherty; Editing by Chris Lewis)
