New Skate Sharpening Machine Add-on Allows Owners to Convert Conventional
Machines, Dress the Grinding Wheel with Revolutionary Flat Bottom V
KINGSVILLE, Ontario--(Business Wire)--
Blackstone Sports, manufacturer of the first skate sharpening machine to
directly enhance a skater`s performance on the ice, today unveiled its
Convertible Spinner System - a skate sharpening machine add-on that will allow
team dealers and equipment managers worldwide the ability to add Blackstone`s
Flat Bottom V (FBV) technology to competing machines.

Blackstone`s FBV technology revolutionizes conventional shaping options for
blades by creating a flat bottom sharpening that maintains tiny 'fangs' on each
edge of the blade, allowing for a freer glide while still providing bite on
turns and stops. With the Convertible Spinner System, any machine owner can now
convert existing dressing systems on virtually all skate sharpeners with the FBV
shape.

The Convertible Spinner System features Blackstone`s patent-pending spinner
system mounted on a movable magnetic stand. The tool is placed in front of the
grinding stone, where the magnet is engaged and a feed screw places the spinner
into the grinding wheel and dresses the stone with the patented FBV shape.

"The Convertible Spinner System will expand the reach of the Flat Bottom V and
make it a technology available to the masses," said Blackstone Co-Founder and
Vice President Steve Wilson. "And what`s more, we`ve offered a cost effective
alternative for dealers and equipment managers - rather than buying a brand new
machine we`ve made it possible to convert your existing machine at a fraction of
the cost."

The Convertible Spinner System is compatible with steel and non-steel surfaces
and retails for $1,700 at BlackstoneSport.com.
