OTTAWA, June 18 (Reuters) - The Federal Court of Canada rejected on Thursday a bid by generic drugmaker Novapharm Ltd to be allowed to market a generic version of Pfizer Inc's (PFE.N) erectile dysfunction drug Viagra.

The court said Novapharm should not be allowed to introduce a generic version until Pfizer's Canadian patent expires in 2014. The court rejected Novapharm's allegation that the patent is invalid.

Novapharm is part of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TEVA.TA). (Reporting by Randall Palmer; editing by Peter Galloway)
