The South Korean government is planning to put $3 billion into Korea Investment Corporation (KIC) to enable the soverign wealth fund to resume overseas investment, a senior KIC official said.
KOREA ECONOMIC DAILY
Hynix Semiconductor (000660.KS) said on Thursday it had signed a memorandum of understanding with Wuxi city in China's Jiangsu Province to set up a sales venture there.
LG Hausys (108670.KS), a maker of industrial materials, will invest 1 trillion won ($792.8 million) in its high-tech materials business by 2015, its CEO said on Wednesday.

Suam Biotechnology Institute announced on Thursday that its team led by scientist Hwang Woo-suk had successfully cloned Trakr, a German shepherd, who became a hero after rescuing victims from the aftermath of the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York in 2001.

President Lee Myung-bak said China and Russia would play an important role in persuading North Korea to scrap its nuclear programme at a meeting in Washington with former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and other Korea experts, according to a presidential spokesperson.
