MOSCOW, June 19 (Reuters) - There are no plans to merge Russia's largest oil firm, state-controlled Rosneft (ROSN.MM), with its privately controlled peer Surgut, Rosneft chairman and Russia's top energy official, Igor Sechin, said on Friday.

Speaking at Rosneft's annual shareholders' meeting, Sechin was addressing years of speculation that the Surgut (SNGS.MM) could be merged with one of Russia's state energy majors. (Reporting by Katya Golubkova, writing by Simon Shuster, editing by Dmitry Zhdannikov)
