WP CAREY & CO LLC (WPC.N)

The investment firm said it appointed Greg Butchart as director of its Dutch subsidiary. Based in Amsterdam, Butchart will head the international asset management group. Prior to joining the firm, he was a director in Lehman Brothers' real estate lending group.

ANNALY CAPITAL MANAGEMENT INC (NLY.N)

The asset management firm said it promoted Eric Szabo to the position of managing director and chief risk officer. Matthew Lambiase and Kevin Riordan have also been named managing directors. Previously, Szabo had been investment strategist for the company, while Lambiase had been executive vice president, head of structured products. Riordan was a director at FIDAC.

TIAA-CREF

The financial services firm appointed Tony Cox as head of consultant relations, effective June 15. Cox joins from Charles Schwab where he was a senior vice president.

UNICREDIT GROUP

The financial institution said it appointed Nick Crawford as global head of forex, with immediate effect. Based in London, Crawford joined the firm in 2007 as head of rates/forex for North America, and global head of foreign exchange derivative trading. Prior to this, Crawford worked at Merrill Lynch in New York.

CLOSE BROTHERS CORPORATE FINANCE

The independent corporate finance adviser appointed Sven Guckelberger as a new managing director to its restructuring and debt advisory group. Guckelberger joins from Deutsche Bank AG.

SHINSEI BANK LTD

The Japanese bank appointed Rahul Gupta, its senior managing executive officer and chief financial officer, as a director. Prior to joining Shinsei Bank, Gupta was managing director and group financial controller of DBS Bank Ltd, Singapore.

TALARIS

The cash management solutions expert said it appointed Paul Heiden to the newly created position of chairman. Heiden was most recently chief executive of international engineering group FKI Plc.

TOKYO COMMODITY EXCHANGE

The company said Tadashi Ezaki has been elected the new president and chief executive. Former president and CEO Masaaki Nangaku is now senior executive adviser.

FENCHURCH ADVISORY PARTNERS

The investment banking boutique said Julian Avery will join the firm as a senior adviser focusing on the Lloyd's of London and Bermudian insurance sectors. Avery was formerly chief executive at Wellington Underwriting Plc and chairman of Equity Insurance Group.

CORDEA SAVILLS

The international property fund manager said it appointed David Bailey as consultant, with key focus to assist in the development and to provide support to its charities property fund. Bailey was previously at Aberdeen Asset Management. (Compiled by Antonita Madonna Devotta in Bangalore)
