General Metals Completes Baseline Environmental Surveys Required for the Permitting of the Independence Project

RENO, NV, Jun 24 (MARKET WIRE) --
General Metals Corporation (the "Company") (OTCBB: GNMT) (FRANKFURT: GMQ)
completed the baseline environmental surveys recently. These surveys are
part of the aggressive permitting and engineering program undertaken by
the Company to move the Independence project toward production as rapidly
as possible.
In addition, the Company has filed the necessary documentation and
applications with the Nevada Department of Water Resources preliminary to
obtaining water rights allocations for the unpatented claims of the
Independence Project and the 480 acre parcel the Company recently acquired
for the processing facilities as disclosed in the Company's press release
dated April 28, 2009.
