Grand Prize Winner Makes Grand Gesture to Save the Planet; Donates 10,000 Trees to American Forest Wildfire Relief Fund MONTVALE, NJ--(Business Wire)-- Good Earth is proud to announce Vladimir Shlionsky of Los Angeles, California, as the grand prize winner of the Good Earth Giveaway. Vladimir will receive $10,000 in cash and $10,000 for the charity of his choice, American Forests. The second prize winner, Sara Middlemist of Houston, Texas, takes home $4,000 for herself and the charity of her choice. And third place winner, William Chen of Encino, California, receives $1,000 for himself and charity of his choice. In addition, five lucky runner-ups were awarded a year`s supply of Good Earth Tea and Coffee. The first-ever Good Earth Giveaway was created as a way to reward loyal consumers -- and their communities. This sweepstakes was designed to be a catalyst for making small changes that can create a big difference in the world; and that is exactly what it has done. "I am so excited. I can now afford my dream vacation or even buy a new car," said grand prize winner Vladimir Shlionsky. "I have lived in Los Angeles for over thirty years and have seen first hand the destruction wildfires bring. I`m proud my donation will have such a big impact on the environment and really make a difference in my community." Vladimir`s donation will go toward American Forests and their San Bernardino Wildfire Relief Fund. The San Bernardino Wildfires have destroyed countless trees in the area, devastating the landscape. Vladimir`s donation will help heal burned lands and replant 10,000 trees in the area. Second place winner Sara Middlemist also chose American Forests as the recipient of her prize money. She was recently distressed by the numbers of trees that were taken down in her own neighborhood and is now delighted to be able to replant 2,000 trees in her home state of Texas. Also choosing to give back to the environment, third place winner William Chen selected the charity Wildlife Way Station for his donation. This charity rescues, rehabilitates, and provides sanctuary to wild and exotic animals from around the world, as well as native wildlife. Good Earth is dedicated to brewing goodness into each and every cup of its premium teas and coffees, and promoting a more eco-friendly world. "Good Earth has always been an advocate for environmental responsibility," said Deborah Glasser, Marketing Director at Good Earth. "We are thrilled that our winners chose charities that make a difference to their communities and to the environment as a whole." The Good Earth donation to American Forests will help plant a total of 12,000 trees between California and Texas. "Good Earth is doing a truly wonderful thing for consumers and charities during these challenging economic times," said Deborah Gangloff, Executive Director for American Forests. "We are pleased to be able to plant these new trees in honor of Good Earth Giveaway winners Vladimir Shlionsky and Sara Middlemist, who have recognized the devastating effects of the loss of trees, both in their communities and across the globe."
