Univision Announces Multi-Year Carriage Agreement with Mediacom Communications; Signs More Than 100 Deals in First Half of 2009

NEW YORK--(Business Wire)--
Univision Communications Inc., the premier Spanish-language media company in the
United States, announced today a multi-year distribution agreement with Mediacom
Communications, the nation`s eighth largest cable television company and the
leading cable operator focused on serving smaller cities and towns in the United
States. 

The company also announced that in the first six months of the year it reached
carriage agreements with more than 100 distributors across the country,
including Cable ONE and NPG Cable. These agreements include continued
distribution of Univision`s broadcast networks, Univision and TeleFutura, and
cable network, Galavisión, and in certain markets, carriage of stations owned
and operated by Univision. Certain agreements include carriage of affiliated
stations owned and operated by Entravision Communications Corporation (NYSE:
EVC) and Equity Media Holdings Corporation. 

The terms of the agreements were not disclosed. 

According to the Pew Research Center, Hispanics account for approximately 50
percent of the population growth in the U.S. and in some markets, such as Los
Angeles and New York, they make up between 20 and close to 50 percent of the
population.
