RICHARDSON, Texas--(Business Wire)--
Taqua®, LLC, a leading supplier of next-generation switching systems and
applications, today announced that Iowa-based Titonka-Burt Communications and
Oregon-based Eagle Telephone Systems have chosen the Taqua 7000 Switching System
to replace their Nortel DMS-10 and Coppercom switching systems.

The T7000 is a leader in Class 5 switch replacement and has successfully
replaced virtually every brand and vintage of Class 5 switch in North America.
The T7000 is based on a patented "switch-on-a-card" design, in which all the
functions of a Class 5 switch or IP gateway are performed on a single circuit
pack. This patented design leads to a substantial decrease in deployment costs
and the ability to expand with TDM, IP, or wireless services on a "pay as you go
basis."

"Titonka-Burt and Eagle Telephone are excellent examples of the types of service
providers that can best utilize the Taqua 7000 Switching System," said Scott
Weidenfeller, chief marketing officer of Taqua. "The T7000's low deployment
costs and versatility enables service providers like these unmatched flexibility
beyond just replacing their legacy TDM switch. They now have the ability to
easily add the latest in enhanced applications, IP and even wireless services
all fully backed and supported by the Taqua customer support team."

Titonka-Burt Communications is headquartered in Titonka, IA and provides
business and residential services to subscribers within and around the North
Central Iowa communities of Titonka and Burt. The company offers a variety of
services including telephony, broadband internet, television, and wireless.
Titonka-Burt is using the Taqua 7000 to cap and replace its existing Coppercom
Class 5 switching system.

"We chose the Taqua 7000 because of its flexibility," said Jim Mayland, general
manager of Titonka-Burt Communications. "The flexible blade-based architecture
naturally makes the system a very cost effective choice, and it also allows us
to future proof our network. Delivering IP services in the future will be done
simply by inserting an IP blade into the existing chassis, and the same stands
true for adding wireless capabilities. We are constantly evaluating ways to
introduce new services and streamline our network, and the flexibility of the
T7000 allows us to move easily and quickly in many different directions."

Headquartered in Richland, Oregon, Eagle Telephone Systems provides wireline and
wireless telephony, broadband, and television services to residents surrounding
the North Eastern Oregon community of Richland.

"Reputation was a big part of our decision to choose the Taqua 7000," explained
Mike Lattin, general manager of Eagle Telephone Systems. "We evaluated several
different options, and when it was all said and done, we felt more comfortable
choosing Taqua because of its strong reputation for reliability and customer
service. The T7000 architecture also played a role in our decision as we intend
to provide additional IP-based services, and the blade-based architecture of the
T7000 allows us to do that easily and quickly."
