Portland, Ore., Hospital Participates in National Database of Nursing Quality
Indicators
PORTLAND, Ore.--(Business Wire)--
Adventist Medical Center (http://www.adventisthealthnw.com), a nonprofit,
302-bed hospital offering a full range of inpatient, outpatient and emergency
services located in southeast Portland, Ore., has been recognized for its strong
commitment to quality nursing between 2007 and 2009. The recognition is based on
the Portland hospital`s participation in the National Database of Nursing
Quality Indicators (NDNQI) program, the only national, nursing quality
measurement program that provides hospitals with unit-level performance reports.

"We`re thrilled to receive the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators
recognition," said Carol Kunau, vice president of patient care services for
Adventist Medical Center. "Adventist has a superior nursing team, and this honor
is confirmation of our team`s commitment to continually enhancing the quality
and safety of our patients` care. I`m proud to see our work acknowledged."

Quality indicators included within the NDNQI report range from patient falls and
infection rates to nursing education, certification and job satisfaction.
Adventist Medical Center`s continuous commitment to quality improvement and
making a difference in nursing care and patient outcomes were cited as key
contributors to its recognition.

All NDNQI data is collected and reported at the nursing unit level. NDNQI`s
nursing-sensitive indicators reflect the structure, process and outcomes of
nursing care. Currently, more than 1,400 U.S. hospitals participate in the NDNQI
program.
