NEW YORK, June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- SouthCoast USA, a multi-state consortium of
11 destinations along Interstate 10 and the Gulf of Mexico committed to
promoting the diversity of the region, today announced its new website
featuring upcoming events for Independence Day celebrations.

"As people start to plan their 4th of July holiday, we wanted to make sure
that all the information about the beautiful SouthCoast destinations is at
their fingertips," said Mike Foster, Chairman of SouthCoast USA and the EVP of
Gulf Shores, Alabama tourism. "Whether you're visiting one spot or exploring
many, this website can help you plan everything from fireworks displays, to
festivals and restaurant specials."

SouthCoast USA destination partners include, Lake Charles, Lafayette, New
Orleans, Baton Rouge, Houma, and North Shore, Louisiana; Mississippi's West
Coast and Ocean Springs, Mississippi; Mobile and Gulf Shores-Orange Beach,
Alabama; and Pensacola, Florida.

"The Gulf Coast region offers something for everyone and we wanted to make the
SouthCoast website a one-stop-shop for travelers to maximize their
experience," said Kim Priez, Vice President of Tourism for New Orleans and
former chair of SouthCoast USA Board.

A key element of the website is a link to each individual destination that
features upcoming events, attractions, and hotel deals to allow consumers the

In addition to Independence Day celebrations, Pensacola has an array of
year-long celebrations commemorating its 450th anniversary. Spanish explorer,
Don Tristan de Luna de Arellano discovered Pensacola in 1559, predating even
St. Augustine (1565) and Jamestown, VA (1607). For more information on
