Television spots ask Members of Congress to support comprehensive energy and
climate legislation

WASHINGTON, June 24 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Climate Protection Action
Fund today released a series of new national television ads, "Do Right,"
urging constituents in Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio and South Dakota to ask
their Members of Congress to support the American Clean Energy & Security Act
of 2009 (ACES).

Every president since Richard Nixon has called for an energy policy less
reliant on foreign sources. Now, the ad says, is the best time for us to act
to ensure our country develops clean energy sources that protect our planet
and our national security - and creates jobs when the country is in need of a
sustainable economic recovery.

"Forty years we've been talking about how we've got to stop being held hostage
by foreign oil," says a familiar face from previous Repower America spots at
the start of the ad, entitled "Do Right."

"Well, we're still borrowing money to buy oil from dictators who don't like us
and burning it in ways that kill God's green earth," he continues. "Why don't
we use our own clean energy and create good paying jobs here instead of
sending billions overseas?"

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released last week "that the net annual
economy-wide cost of the cap-and-trade program in 2020 would be about $175 per
household." This is a mere 48 cents per day - about the same cost as a postage
stamp.

"Scientists, economists, and Wall Street have said again and again that
repowering America with clean energy jobs is the catalyst we need to activate
a sustainable economic recovery," said Climate Protection Action Fund CEO
Maggie Fox. "Military and foreign policy experts have said, in ever-louder
voices, that America's national security depends on ending our addiction to
oil. Expanding the clean energy sector now can help us achieve both goals."

"It's no secret that our economy can no longer rely on the dirty fuels of the
past and their unpredictable price fluctuations," Fox said. "Embracing this
new direction on energy will take bold leadership, and it is up to us to make
the right choices now, instead of leaving opportunities for job creation and
greater national security lying on the table. We have no time to lose."

"Do Right" concludes with a forward-looking note: "We can either go down the
same old dead end path or finally do right by our kids. What are we waiting
for?"

For 40 years now we've been talking about how we have to stop being held
hostage by foreign oil.

Well, we're still borrowing money to buy oil from dictators that don't like us
and burning it in ways that kill God's green earth.

Why can't we use our own clean energy and create good paying jobs here instead
of sending billions overseas?

Now we can either go down the same old dead end path, or finally do right by
our kids.

Folks in Washington have been talking long enough. Tell them to vote for Clean
Energy jobs now.
