Tribe Makes Payment of $125,000 to Assist El Dorado County With Public Safety

The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians Funds County Law Enforcement
Services

SHINGLE SPRINGS, Calif., June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The Shingle Springs Band of
Miwok Indians made a payment this week of $125,000 to the El Dorado County
Board of Supervisors for Law Enforcement Services. The Tribe's assistance will
strengthen the administration of public safety programs and services
throughout the region.

As part of their County Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the Shingle Springs
Band of Miwok Indians made a commitment to contribute financial resources
toward the support of El Dorado County public safety and law enforcement. Per
the MOU, the first $500,000 will be devoted to the purchase of police
vehicles, hiring of additional law enforcement officers and other tangibles
that the County's Board concludes are needed to protect the safety of El
Dorado County residents. Additionally, the Tribe in its agreement advanced the
County $250,000 before the Red Hawk Casino opened. Since 2008, the Shingle
Springs Band of Miwok Indians has supported several county projects across the
region with more than $15 million in funding.
