Activities and a Celebrity Chef July 3 Through July 5
TORRANCE, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
So Fresh Market, an open-air, community market committed to providing a unique
way for local patrons to eat, shop, learn and give back, will host a Watermelon
Festival throughout the Independence Day weekend. The event will commence
Friday, July 3 and conclude Sunday, July 5 at the Del Amo Fashion Center in
Torrance, Calif.

The weekend event caters to patrons seeking to celebrate the Independence Day
weekend with free activities, games and entertainment suitable for the entire
family.

"Throughout the Fourth of July weekend, So Fresh Market will be overrun with the
all-American experience during our Watermelon Festival," said Dan`l Mackey Almy,
marketing spokesperson for So Fresh Market. "Short of hosting a fireworks
display, So Fresh Market will provide free, traditional family fun and
entertainment that the entire community will enjoy. In addition to
watermelon-themed games and crafts, along with local bands providing live
entertainment, So Fresh Market is featuring peak-of-season watermelons that are
refreshing, juicy and tantalizingly sweet for a great value."

On Friday, July 3, classic rock band Radio 1960 will entertain from 5:00 p.m. to
9:00 p.m. On Saturday, July 4, Blue Breeze Band will feature Motown hits from
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Food Network Challenge gold medalist Chef Ray will
provide cooking demonstrations, including watermelon carvings, throughout the
weekend.

On July 4, So Fresh Market games and activities will include:

• Watermelon eating contest

• Seed spitting contest

• Summertime trivia

• Watermelon carvings and art

• Watermelon tasting

• Pick the perfect watermelon

• Prizes

The community market is open every weekend, providing a place for South Bay
locals to come together to shop for peak-of-season fruits and vegetables, local
cuisine, natural foods, creative meal options and free entertainment with the
purpose of giving back to the community.

So Fresh Market, located between Madrona and Hawthorne adjacent to the northern
parking deck of the mall, is open for business every Friday from 10 a.m. to 7
p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
