Members to Deliver Thousands of Postcards to Demonstrate Support for the
Employee Free Choice Act
COLUMBUS, Ohio--(Business Wire)--
Members of the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) of Ohio Locals 75, 880,
1059 and the International Chemical Workers Council will be visiting the Central
Ohio District Office of U.S. Senator George Voinovich (R-OH) on Monday, June 29,
at 11:15 a.m., to urge the Senator to support the Employee Free Choice Act,
legislation that would allow workers to have the free choice to join a union.
This action is part of a coordinated nationwide effort of the UFCW to remind our
lawmakers that the Employee Free Choice Act represents the best way to expand
the middle class and make the economy work for everyone.
With more than 75,000 members in the retail, food packing and processing, health
care and chemical industries, UFCW of Ohio protects the rights of workers and
strengthens America`s middle class by fighting for health care reform, living
wages, retirement security, safe working conditions and the right to unionize so
that working men and women and their families can realize the American Dream.
