NYU-SCPS Awards HP Executive Vyomesh (VJ) Joshi 2009 Prism Award

NEW YORK, June 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Vyomesh (VJ) Joshi, executive
vice president of the Imaging and Printing Group (IPG) at HP, was honored this
week with the 2009 Prism Award by the Master of Arts in Graphic Communications
Management and Technology program in the Division of Media Industry Studies
and Design of the New York University School of Continuing and Professional
Studies (NYU-SCPS).

VJ first joined HP in 1980 as a research and development engineer.  For the
past seven years, he has led IPG, a $29 billion annual business that
encompasses inkjet, LaserJet and commercial printing, as well as printing
supplies, digital photography, entertainment, graphics and managed services.
Under VJ's leadership, IPG has grown revenue from $19 billion to $29 billion
and doubled its operating profit to more than $4 billion. 

VJ was introduced by John D. Wren, president and CEO of the Omnicom Group
Inc., at the 23rd Annual Prism Award Luncheon. Some 500 industry leaders
gathered at the event held at Gotham Hall in New York City.  

The Prism Award recognizes excellence in graphic communications media,
leadership, and innovation and is presented annually to outstanding business
leaders as well as to a student or member of the alumni whose academic
achievements and contributions to the industry are exemplary. Recent
recipients include: Hearst Magazines' Cathleen Black; Newsweek's Richard M.
Smith; Eastman Kodak's Antonio M. Perez; and Xerox's Anne M. Mulcahy.

All donations support the Prism Fellowship Student Scholarship Fund in the
M.A. in Graphic Communications Management and Technology program, recognized
by the EDSF Award for Excellence in Education and Innovation for Higher
Education. The program is a 40-credit master's degree designed to teach
critical leadership skills specific to the field, with a strong focus on
management practices and cross-media technology.
