UPDATE 1-Komatsu sees brisk China construction gear sales
* Sees over 10 pct growth in its June China sales
* Demand recovery in Indonesia, India, Saudi Arabia, Turkey
* Sales in U.S., Japan, Europe not hit bottom yet (Recasts throughout with details)
TOKYO, June 26 (Reuters) - Komatsu Ltd (6301.T), the world's second-biggest earth moving equipment maker, said sales in China are growing fast, aided by an economic stimulus package, but demand in rich nations is much weaker than expected.
Company president Kunio Noji said sales of hydraulic excavators and other construction machinery in China so far in June have already matched all of June last year. June sales are certain to top the year-ago level by over 10 percent.
That would follow a 13 percent fall in May in China, Noji told reporters.
Komatsu, which competes with Caterpillar Inc (CAT.N) of the United States, said demand for mining equipment is recovering in Indonesia, aided by an upturn in oil prices, while sales are improving in some emerging markets like India, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
But sales in markets such as Japan, the United States and Europe have yet to hit bottom, he said.
"We had expected the January-March quarter to be the bottom, but that was not the case," Noji said. (Reporting by Yuko Inoue; Editing by David Cowell)
