HOUSTON, TX, Jun 29 (MARKET WIRE) --
Behavioral Recognition Systems, Inc. (BRS Labs) today announced it has
appointed Chris Peterson to the new position of executive vice president.
He reports to Ray Davis, chairman and CEO of BRS Labs, and is responsible
for creating sales strategy and building a full-fledged sales
organization. The company created this new position to expand the market
for AISight(TM), BRS Labs' Cognitive Video Analytics(TM) product, which
delivers the alerting accuracy and scale needed to secure large and
complex environments. AISight is the only video analytics solution that
observes, learns, and responds to potential threats without rules
programming or other human training.
"BRS Labs has reached a point where we're ready to grow beyond our current
customer base of very innovative early adopters of AISight," said Davis.
"Chris has the experience to build the strategy, framework, and sales team
that we need as the company expands into the broad video surveillance
market. He has extensive knowledge of the customers, VARs, systems
integrators, and other players in the overall video analytics market that
we need to reach. His strong relationships within the channel will also be
important to our growth."
"I think BRS Labs' Cognitive Video Analytics technology can be a game
changer," said Peterson. "There's a huge need in the market for a truly
intelligent video surveillance system that the current rules-based
products simply can't fill. VARs and system integrators have been waiting
for a video analytics product that works, and I know that AISight is that
product. Not only does AISight provide tremendous value to end users but
it is also quick and easy to implement; integrators can bring in the
product, link it to a customer's camera system, and have it up and running
in two days."
AISight is based on the human cognitive model for processing visual inputs
into knowledge. The product learns what activities are normal for every
unique environment, alerts on all activities that do not fit the normal
pattern, and adapts to changes in the environment over time. This is a
fundamentally different approach from that of conventional rules-based
video analytics systems, which are programmed to look only for one
specific object or motion and have a high rate of false positives. View
examples of how AISight recognizes and identifies abnormal activity.
Peterson joins BRS Labs from ICx Technologies, a developer and
manufacturer of sensors and software designed for the counterterrorism
and security markets. Most recently, he was the divisional vice president
of business development, Americas, responsible for recruiting and
managing a high-level sales team to create demand for ICx solutions.
Peterson previously was business unit vice president of sales and
marketing at ICx. He has a BS in mechanical engineering from the
University of Florida.
