Participants in world's largest open-source community download an average of
1.8 million unique software applications and tools each day

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SourceForge (Nasdaq:
LNUX), the global online network for community-driven tech media and
e-commerce, today announced that the SourgeForge.net Web site has served its 4
billionth download. SourceForge is the largest collection of open source
tools and applications on the Net.

Since the establishment of the SourceForge community in 1999, as much as
35,500 terabytes of data have been transferred among its members - a volume of
data equivalent to reading the entire contents of the Library of Congress
every day for nearly a year.

The 4 billionth download, PortableApps.com, was obtained on June 8th. Created
by John T. Haller in 2004, PortableApps.com is an open, portable software
platform that lets users carry their favorite software on a USB flash drive or
other device. As the 4 billionth download, PortableApps.com receives a trip to
the OSCON conference in San Jose, July 21-25, and to SourceForge's Community
Choice Awards ceremony on July 23.

"Many of our users, developers and translators became a part of our project
through the SourceForge community, and we've worked with dozens of other open
source projects on SourceForge in the process," said Haller. "We're currently
on the verge of our 100 millionth portable app download and that would not
have been possible without SourceForge's continued support."

SourceForge began nearly a decade ago as an innovative resource to aid
developer access to open source software and has evolved into today's
increasingly popular multi-platform code sharing network for the world's most
passionate and experienced information technology professionals and
enthusiasts.

"With a run rate of approximately 1.8 million downloads a day, our community
is driving remarkable and meaningful results," said Jon Sobel, SourceForge's
group president of Media. "Our technology enthusiast users are not simply
'clicking through'; SourceForge users are deeply engaged and interested in the
entire experience. Not only are they downloading software, applications and
tools, they are also regularly giving back by adding more content or providing
feedback."

With more than 2.3 million registered users and 230,000 open source projects,
SourceForge.net supports ongoing organic growth with its community-driven
platform offerings for developers, including Hosted Apps, a service that
provides instant, virtualized access to popular open source applications.
