Morningside House Nursing Home Selects Optimum Lightpath to Replace its
Existing Five Service Providers for Big Savings, Reliable Telecommunications
and Mission-Critical Technology
150-Year-Old Mainstay Consolidates Telecommunications, Simplifies Processes
and Reduces Costs with Improved Reliability, Quality of Service and Customer
Care
JERICHO, N.Y., June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Optimum Lightpath(SM), a market leader
in Ethernet-based communication solutions for New York metropolitan area
businesses, today announced that Bronx-based Morningside House, a subsidiary
of Aging in America, selected Optimum Lightpath as its telecommunications
provider. By consolidating its telecommunications services with Optimum
Lightpath, Morningside House saves nearly $28,000 per year by utilizing the
company's innovative voice, data and Internet services.
Morningside House replaced its T1s and 1.5-Mbps Internet access provided by
five different telecommunications carriers, including Verizon and AT&T, with
Optimum Lightpath's 50 Mb metro Ethernet service and 20 Mbps Internet and
Voice service. The nursing home was able to consolidate its telecommunications
needs with Optimum Lightpath because of its metro Ethernet-based network,
better quality of service, and local, human touch. This deployment enables
Morningside to add more bandwidth to support immediate accessibility to its
mission-critical clinical database, hosted payroll and pharmacy applications
as well as its billing system - all for one predictable monthly cost.
"Before deploying Optimum Lightpath's service, we had serious concerns about
reliability, customer service, billing and price across our five selected
providers. Our monthly communications costs were shocking and still we
experienced consistent outages where each service provider would blame the
other, keeping me on the phone for hours at a time," said John Mastronardi,
Assistant Administrator for Aging in America. "When we brought in Optimum
Lightpath, we increased data and Internet performance by as much as 50%, for
$2,300.00 less per month - it was phenomenal. Our customer satisfaction really
went through the roof. With Optimum Lightpath, I get a live person on the
phone and any issues are resolved in minutes."
"We are delighted to add Morningside House to our growing team of smart
healthcare facilities in the New York Metropolitan area," said Dave
Pistacchio, President of Optimum Lightpath. "As our smart healthcare
facilities continue to deploy fiber-to-their-business and more efficient
voice, data, Internet and video technologies, they join the area's most
sophisticated businesses, and the Optimum Lightpath smart community."
Optimum Lightpath has selected Morningside House Nursing Home for its Customer
Spotlight of the Month for June 2009.
