Centerplate Announces 'Game-Changing' Strategic Alliance with David Robinson's
Admiral Capital Group

STAMFORD, Conn., June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Centerplate, the foodservice partner
to North America's premier convention centers and sports venues, announced
today that it has formed an alliance with Admiral Capital Group (Admiral
Capital) with the goal of maximizing both its growth opportunities and social
impact. As the first transaction for Admiral Capital, the firm formed by NBA
legend and noted philanthropist David Robinson and former Goldman Sachs banker
Daniel Bassichis, the deal acknowledges Centerplate's position as the most
progressive large-scale foodservice solutions provider.

Admiral will provide strategic business development, capitalizing on a strong
network in the sports industry, and will also focus on supporting
Centerplate's commitment to its communities and employees. To that effect,
Admiral has partnered with Living Cities to assist in identifying
opportunities to provide support to lower income employees and communities
associated with Centerplate. Living Cities is a long-standing philanthropic
collaborative of 21 of the world's largest foundations and financial
institutions working to bring mainstream market power to low-income urban
areas. Centerplate plays an active role in communities throughout North
America providing fund-raising opportunities to non-profit organizations, food
to shelters, and job skills training for thousands of people each year.

David Robinson, set for induction into the NBA Hall of Fame this September,
has made an impact on the San Antonio community that is as impressive as his
Hall of Fame career highlighted by his two Olympic gold medals, two NBA
championships and an NBA MVP trophy. Robinson has personally contributed over
$10 million towards the development of the Carver Academy, a school on San
Antonio's east side serving a socio-economically and culturally diverse mix of
pre-kindergarten through 6th grade students. A portion of all Admiral Capital
profits, including proceeds from the Centerplate partnership, will support
philanthropic causes such as The Carver Academy. Additionally, Centerplate
welcomes David Robinson to a seat on the Board of Directors.

"We see the partnership as an extremely attractive opportunity both from an
absolute return standpoint and from the perspective of effecting positive
social change," said David Robinson. "Centerplate has demonstrated a
significant commitment to improving the communities in which it operates and
we are excited for the opportunity to join Kohlberg as investors. We look
forward to working together to identify new business opportunities which will
have strong financial and social benefits for all of Centerplate's
stakeholders."

"This innovative partnership is another example of how we continue to lead our
industry in developing programs to 'wow' our guests by creating superior fan
experiences while super charging our programs of giving back to the
communities in which we work and live," said Des Hague, president & CEO of
Centerplate.

"We are thrilled to welcome Admiral Capital as a partner in Centerplate, and
we look forward to exploring the myriad possibilities for creative and
socially conscious business development both at Centerplate and throughout our
investment portfolio," said Gordon Woodward, partner at leading private equity
firm Kohlberg & Company, which acquired Centerplate earlier this year.

"As one of the most innovative companies in its industry, Centerplate is an
ideal partner and investment vehicle for our firm," said Daniel Bassichis.
"We look for opportunities to capitalize on our unique value proposition and
with this deal we will have the opportunity to directly support the company's
future growth."

Centerplate is dedicated to integrating its services in ways that create
exceptional entertainment experiences, while maintaining a strong commitment
to community involvement. In addition to the recent new contract with the
University of Kansas athletics complex, home of the defending Big 12
conference champion and 2008 National Champion Men's Basketball Team,
Centerplate has added Pizza Hut Park, home of FC Dallas, and the University of
Hawaii, its first campus dining client, to its client portfolio in the first
quarter of 2009.
