VIENNA, VA, Jun 29 (MARKET WIRE) --
VidSys, the leading provider of Physical Security Information Management
(PSIM) software that allows organizations to resolve business and
security situations in real time, today announced that the Joint
Transportation Management Center (JTMC), which leverages VidSys PSIM
software as its common operating platform, was recognized with the
Project of the Year - Transportation Management award by ITS-NY. A
non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of intelligent
transportation systems (ITS) within New York State, ITS-NY announced its
2009 Project of the Year winners at its Sixteenth Annual Meeting, which
took place June 11 - 12 in Saratoga Springs, NY.

The JTMC is a new state-of-the-art center in Long Island City, New York
which, among many things, monitors and manages incidents utilizing ITS
technologies. The VidSys PSIM software is at the heart of the JTMC, where
it collects, correlates and analyzes information from across multiple
devices from different vendors and presents intelligent views of the
situation to the center operators. It also provides a common operating
picture, empowering the JTMC operators to effectively manage complex
technologies and emergencies by enabling them to focus on the management
of situations instead of technologies.

"VidSys played a key role in the creation of the JTMC as our technology
made it possible to integrate existing field devices along with
technologies including wide ranging data sources and automated situation
management to improve the performance of the overall traffic network,"
explained James Chong, CTO of VidSys and program executive for the JTMC.
"Together with the other initiative members, we worked tirelessly to build
and open this cutting-edge transportation command center and are greatly
honored for this recognition from ITS-NY."

The JTMC's multi-team member initiative involved the NYSDOT, the New York
City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT), the New York Police
Department, FHWA, Jacobs Civil Consultants, Inc., JHK Engineering
PC/TransCore ITS LLC, Parsons and VidSys.

"By aligning personnel, procedures and policies on top of a comprehensive
technology platform that leverages both new and existing infrastructure
assets, we're able to get the most timely and important information in the
hands of decision makers when they need it," said Adam Levine of JTMC.
"With a common operating picture, we're better equipped to achieve our
objective of safely and efficiently moving people, goods, services and
information throughout the city and state of New York -- and VidSys PSIM
software is the glue that brings the entire technology infrastructure
together."

The winning projects highlight the use of ITS technologies to improve the
mobility and safety of NYS travelers, enhance the efficiency of NYS
transportation networks and modes including public transportation, and
provide positive environmental and energy benefits to NYS. The projects
also have a high degree of multiagency coordination and collaboration.
