Women in Technology Announces 2009-2010 Leadership

ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(Business Wire)--
Women in Technology (WITSM), the premier organization contributing to the
success of professional women in the Washington technology community, today
announced its 2009-2010 Board of Directors. Members in attendance at the June
18, 2009 general meeting elected the Board to serve for the 2009-2010 year. 

"As WIT`s incoming President, I look forward to energizing and mobilizing our
membership to make an impact on the D.C.-Metro technology industry," said Toni
Townes-Whitley, President, WIT. "Building on the dedication and hard work of our
past WIT leadership, the incoming officers and committee chairs will continue to
lead the charge for the advancement of girls and women in the technology
industry through innovative programs, networking, mentoring, job fairs and
executive coaching." 

Under the leadership and direction of President Townes-Whitley, WIT will focus
on expanding its perspective to recognize the advancement of women globally in
the field of technology. WIT will also increase its advocacy role for positions
that align with its mission, more actively engaging in and shaping the
discussions affecting women in the field. And finally, WIT will prioritize
technology segments to provide more relevant, content rich programs and events
throughout the year.
