Newseum to Host Apollo Anniversary Astronaut Event

WHAT: To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing, the
Newseum will host a program on the past, present and future of space
exploration on Monday, July 20. Veteran journalist Nick Clooney will moderate
a panel discussion featuring astronauts from three Apollo missions, a space
shuttle astronaut and the deputy director of NASA's Goddard Space Flight
Center.

The discussion -- "The Apollo Legacy: The Moon and Beyond" -- will air on NASA
TV and will be simulcast to science centers across the United States, where
people can ask questions of the panel. Several other astronauts and their
families are expected to participate in the day's activities.
