CNA's General Counsel, Sherri Goodman, Promoted To Senior Vice President

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- CNA announced today that
Sherri Goodman is promoted from vice president to senior vice president,
General Counsel and Board Secretary.  Reporting to President and Chief
Executive Officer Robert J. Murray, Goodman is also the executive director of
CNA's Military Advisory Board (MAB), which recently released its report
"Powering America's Defense: Energy and the Risks to National Security"
(www.poweringamericasdefense.org).   

"Sherri's initiation of CNA's Military Advisory Board has provided an
opportunity for the MAB to combine assessment of information on energy
security and climate change with the expertise of senior military officers in
national security to find the place where they intersect," said Murray.  "I

Before joining CNA in 2001, Goodman was Deputy Undersecretary of Defense
(Environmental Security), serving as the chief environmental, safety, and
occupational health officer for the Department of Defense. 

As an attorney, prior to her work at the Department of Defense, Goodman
practiced law at Goodwin Procter and served on the staff of the Senate Armed
Services Committee, working for the Chairman, Sen. Sam Nunn. She has also
worked at RAND and SAIC.

Goodman received a J.D. cum laude from the Harvard Law School and a Masters in
Public Policy from Harvard'sJohn F. Kennedy School of Government. She received
her Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude from Amherst College.
