LAKE MARY, Fla., June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- F4W, Inc. (F4W), a software
development company focused on delivering easy-to-use and cost-effective
communications solutions, announced today the United States Patent office
awarded F4W its patent application number US 7,546,139 B2 for its "System and
Method for Establishing and Maintaining Communications Across Disparate
Networks" on June 9, 2009. This patent outlines, graphically and in text,
F4W's approach to man-portable communications. Subsequently, it is one of
three patents upon which their widely accepted and successful product line is
based.
Keith Money, chief operations officer of F4W, said, "We have been at this for
years, taking our real-world experience and using it to create solutions that
meet all DHS requirements for portability, simplicity, interoperability and
affordability. We invented man-portable communications. We invented network
communications kits that anyone can use, in any situation, under any
circumstance with any network. I am proud of our team and our company."
In brief, the patent outlines a system for establishing and maintaining
communications across disparate networks and comprises a satellite dish and
control unit comprising a network management server and a satellite data
conversion component. The control unit may further comprise an application
server and a satellite dish alignment component. The system is relatively easy
to deploy and can even be used when traditional network infrastructure is
unavailable.
More importantly, at the center of everything F4W does is their patented
Energo technology. This technology allows F4W to build products and
applications that easily adapt to their environment while providing on-demand
interoperability, flexibility and simplicity at costs affordable to the
smallest of business, agency or municipality.
Mr. Money added, "Following the 2004 hurricane season in Florida and the 2005
season in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi, we knew there had to be a better
way to ensure communications following major disasters. We took an entirely
different approach than anyone. We focused on the people who would rely on us.
What we invented, what we earned our patents for, are products that redefine
the approach to communications and interoperability. This success has led us
into Healthcare, Education, Fortune 500, Industrial and many other areas
outside Public Safety."
There are several major manufacturers infringing on the company's patents. Mr.
Money concluded, "Earning our patents are achievements we will not take
lightly nor allow anyone to violate. It is our intent to make these companies
aware of their infringements."
