What:  As part of ongoing efforts to increase affordable homeownership, the
Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco (FHLBank San Francisco) in partnership
with Habitat for Humanity of Greater San Francisco are hosting a build day at
Whitney Young Circle, Habitat's newest housing development in San Francisco. 
Volunteers including bank officials and civic leaders will work alongside the
new homeowners to help complete their respective residences.

The seven new single-family homes are located in the Bayview-Hunters Point
neighborhood. Each home includes four bedrooms, two baths, a one-car garage,
and a host of environmentally-friendly components such as solar photovoltaic
roof panels and will accommodate residents with mobility impairments.  The
development received a $140,000 grant from the FHLBank San Francisco through
member institution, Silicon Valley Bank, allowing the mortgage of each home to
be reduced by $20,000. The homes will be owned by Chinese, Vietnamese and
African families who immigrated to the U.S.
