WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.--(Business Wire)--
Metropolitan Health Networks, Inc. (NYSE AMEX: MDF), a leading provider of
healthcare services in Florida, today announced that the company has been added
to the Russell 3000® and the Russell Global® Indices, following Russell
Investment Group`s annual reconstitution of its family of indices on June 26,
2009. The Russell 3000 Index measures the performance of the largest 3000 U.S.
companies representing approximately 98% of the investable U.S. equity market
and serves as the U.S. component to the Russell Global Index.

Michael Earley, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Metropolitan commented,
"Inclusion in the Russell 3000 is further validation of the progress that
Metropolitan continues to make as it seeks to bring value to its shareholders
and expose the company to a broader base of institutional investors."

Metropolitan`s membership in the Russell 3000, which remains in place for one
year, also means that the company will be included in the small-cap Russell
2000® Index as well as the appropriate growth and value style indexes. Russell
determines membership for its equity indexes primarily by objective,
market-capitalization rankings and style attributes. Russell provides its equity
index family to investment managers and institutional investors for index funds
and as benchmarks for both passive and active investment strategies. According
to Russell, $4 trillion in assets currently are benchmarked to its indices.
