Tessenderlo unit acquires Dupont herbicide assets

BRUSSELS, June 29 (Reuters) - Belgian chemicals and plastics group Tessenderlo (TESB.BR) said on Monday its U.S. unit Tessenderlo Kerley Inc (TKI) had acquired DuPont (DD.N) unit DuPont Crop Protection's linuron herbicide assets.

The group did not disclose financial details of the agreement.

Linuron herbicide is a speciality herbicide used primarily in the carrot, asparagus, celery, potato, cotton and soybean markets, Tessenderlo said.

It is currently marketed under the DuPont Lorox and Linex brands, as well as several associated trademarks.

TKI will acquire global rights to the linuron business, including trade names, registrations and registration data, Tessenderlo said. (Reporting by Antonia van de Velde; Editing by Jon Loades-Carter)
