Candover approached for Belgium diapers firm--FT
LONDON, June 30 |
LONDON, June 30 (Reuters) - Private equity group Candover has received approaches from trade buyers for Ontex, the Belgium-based maker of diapers and wet wipes, reported the Financial Times on Tuesday.
The paper said any sale of Ontex, which it cited people close to the company as valuing at 950 million euros ($1.3 billion), could generate cash for its listed parent Candover Investments (CDI.L).
It already agreed to sell research firm Wood Mackenzie to rival Charterhouse for $905 million earlier this month, providing a cash infusion for Candover Investments. [ID:nLJ251842]
Candover Investments on Monday said it had ended bid talks and would meet key debt tests thanks to cost cuts and disposals. [ID:nLT599440]
Candover was not immediately available to comment. (Reporting by Victoria Bryan; Editing by Gary Hill)
