On Foot, Client and Consultant Tackle Marketing Issues Step by Step

GOSHEN, Mass., June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- If an entrepreneur or professional
needs advice, they normally talk it out with a coach or consultant by phone or
in an office. When marketing guru Marcia Yudkin read about a Seattle
consultant arranging short "pick my brain" sessions at a local cafe, she liked
the idea of an informal face-to-face setting. And since she lives in the
woods and takes a long walk or hike just about every day, she came up with the
idea of a "Walk the Talk" consultation (http://www.yudkin.com/walkthetalk.htm
).

Yudkin and her client meet at a bike path or walking trail near her home in
Western Massachusetts and address the client's marketing questions while
walking for an hour. "It's a healthy, fun way to resolve business problems,"
she says. "And with so much being done online today, it's refreshing to
connect with a client one-on-one without using a single piece of technology."

Her first "Walk the Talk" client drove nearly two hours to their starting
point at a bridge over the Connecticut River in Northampton, Mass. "Our
walking route was beautiful and inspiring, and I have no doubt that it added
to the high-quality plan that we created together," says Lisa Claudia Briggs,
a holistic psychotherapist who helps women and teens through her web site
IntuitiveBody.com. "We were truly 'in step' around solving my challenges, and
I was amazed at how much ground we could cover by walking as we strategized.
It was a breath of fresh air in every way."

The author of 11 books, Marcia Yudkin moved from the Boston area to Goshen,
Massachusetts (population 920) in 2002, and consults by telephone, email or
the web with clients based all over the U.S., as well as some in Canada,
Europe and Australia. For a limited time, a one-hour walking consultation with
her is $200, discounted from her usual fee of $350. The rendezvous point might
be in Northampton, Amherst, or one of the hilltowns in the Pioneer Valley,
which she notes is a wonderful destination for a family summer vacation.
