EDMONTON, ALBERTA, Jun 30 (MARKET WIRE) --
Northlands, one of Edmonton's most exciting events venues, is the site of
two of this summer's biggest events: the Capital EX and the 2009 Rexall
Edmonton Indy.

This year's Edmonton's Capital EX, with an adventure-filled and
star-studded line-up of attractions and musical performances, promises to
live up to its slogan: Edmonton's Biggest Summer Celebration.

Capital EX also offers Edmonton's greatest tastes, with Sip!, a wine and
food experience, featuring Food Network's Celebrity Chef, David Adjey.
From July 20-24, Adjey will share his culinary prowess twice a night,
from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Sip Cooking Stage (Northlands AgriCom, Hall
A). Stop by the stage to indulge in delightful sips and delectable bites.

This annual Edmonton event also offers some of the greatest shows. In all
of its renowned pomp, pageantry and precision, Cirque Shanghai Bai XI:
The Show of a Hundred Wonders, takes to the stage three times a day.
Combining elements of traditional and innovative acrobatic practice, the
Shanghai Bai XI performers' ability knows no bounds. This show is free
with gate admission.

With his self-created live lion adventure "The Wild World of Lions,"
Brian McMillan, noted conservationist, educator, film and TV animal
trainer, thrills and delights. McMillan takes participants on an
informative and enlightening journey involving six "kings of the jungle"!
This show is performed three times a day, and is free with gate admission.

Watch professional wave gliders demonstrate new trends in the surfing
industry at the EX Zone with the FlowRider Mobile SURF Party. Our Lady
Peace, Emerson Drive, Paul Brandt and Hinder are just a few of the names
to headline the 2009 ED Fest Stage. All ED Fest shows are free with gate
admission. There are great live shows for the whole family too, with
performances by Doodlebops, Thomas and Friends, Toopy and Binoo, Max &
Ruby and Harry and His Bucket Full of Dinosaurs, free with gate admission.

Ride-All-Day passes are available in advance until July 16, and can be
purchased at participating Save-On Foods' locations, as well as through
Ticketmaster. Advance purchasing will save you up to $15.

Extinct no more! "Walking with the Dinosaurs" is held at Northlands in
conjunction with the Capital EX, July 22-26, with tickets for the show
sold separately from Capital EX's admission passes. Watch in amazement as
15 life-sized dinosaurs dominate the stage, while they navigate the
real-to-life terrain of the show's set and challenge one another for
supremacy.

Edmonton vacation packages are available for the Capital EX and for the
2009 Rexall Edmonton Indy, which runs from July 24-26 at Northlands. With
cars reaching speeds of more than 200mph, this three-day Edmonton event
promises to deliver heart-pounding, exhilarating and fast paced
entertainment.

There is an undeniable patriotic component to this year's Rexall Edmonton
Indy, with Canadian racers Alex Tagliani and Paul Tracy getting behind
the wheel for what will be Edmonton's second year of IndyCar racing and
the fifth consecutive year of open wheel racing.

Juno Award winners the Sam Roberts Band will be playing a free concert to
all race-goers who have tickets for the opening night for the NASCAR
qualifying races, Friday, July 24. The Sam Roberts Band's most recent
album, Love at the End of the World, debuted at #1 on the Canadian Music
Charts.

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will take to the air on Sunday, July 26 at
the 2009 Rexall Edmonton Indy. Reaching speeds of 600 kilometres per
hour, the Snowbirds are known for their fleet's heart stopping in-air
sequences that see the planes flying in formation a mere 4-feet apart.

The Indy's off-track programming is at an all-time high with the addition
of the Adrenaline Alley Specialty Vehicle Display, confirmed
in-attendance celebrities and for the first time, RV parking being made
available to the Indy's overnight guests.

Tickets for the Rexall Edmonton Indy are on sale now, with 3-day package
and single day pass options being available through all Ticketmaster
outlets, www.ticketmaster.ca, or by calling 780.451.8000.
