In conformity with the Disclosure and Transparency Rule 5.6.1R we would like to
notify the market of the following:

City Merchants High Yield Trust plc's issued share capital consists of
60,409,286 ordinary shares of 2p each with voting rights.

The above figure (60,409,286) may be used by shareholders as the denominator
for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to
notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, City Merchants High
Yield Trust plc under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
