Advantage Business Media Also Gains Benefits from Tech Savvy Youth
ROCKAWAY, N.J.--(Business Wire)--
Businesses of all types have long used internship programs to help prepare
college students and recent graduates for the workforce, but in the current
economy, one publisher has found that it may be gaining just as much from these
young soon-to-be professionals.

That publisher is Rockaway, New Jersey-based Advantage Business Media, which
offers highly focused print publications and associated websites, e-newsletters,
conferences, directories and search databases for professionals in science,
technology, electrical and industrial maintenance fields. With this diverse
portfolio of publications and services, ABM`s internship program provides an
equally varied array of options for students looking at the publishing field for
their career.

"Our interns have the opportunity to work in several areas, including editorial,
marketing and IT-focused positions, depending upon their skillsets and
interests," said Susanne Foulds, Vice President of Human Resources and intern
coordinator. "Since the inception of ABM, we`ve worked with several local
colleges and universities to give students hands-on experience in the
workplace." Foulds noted that the program initially focused on editorial
internships, but now also offers opportunities in IT programming, website search
engine optimization and market research.

"We are proud to offer an internship program that not only helps these students,
but also helps bring us new ideas and perspectives on how digital content can
create interaction with young engineers and science professionals," said ABM
President George Fox. "What we gain from our interns is of great value because
it enables our publications to continue to evolve along with the needs of its
readers, allowing us to provide them with engaging information in the format
they prefer and that can help them perform their work more efficiently."
