First WindCube(R) Rooftop Turbine Goes Into Service at Crown Battery Renewable
Energy Center

WHO:
Green Energy Technologies (Ohio's only OEM wind turbine manufacturer), with
Crown Battery and Roth Bros., Inc.

WHAT:
Unveiling of first commercial installation of the WindCube(R) 60kW rooftop
wind turbine for commercial and industrial power users in urban and suburban
locations

WHEN:
Monday, July 6, 2009, 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

WHERE:
Lake Erie Business Park
5225 W. Lakeshore Drive (SR 2)
Port Clinton, Ohio

PROGRAM:
Fremont-based Crown Battery opens its new Renewable Energy Center in Port
Clinton's Lake Erie Business Park. The Center features off-grid electrical
power generating capacity through wind and solar applications - including the
WindCube invented by Green Energy Technologies of Akron - in the manufacture
of renewable batteries for energy storage markets around the world. Taking
advantage of Ohio's net metering law, Crown will be able to offset its peak
demand on the power grid and reduce its energy costs.

By capturing and amplifying the wind, the WindCube fills a previously unmet
need for turbines that can be placed into service in a very small footprint,
producing the same amount of energy as a traditional turbine (50 foot in
diameter) in a 22x22x12-foot frame. Because of the amplification effect, the
WindCube is able to capture wind energy as low as 5 mph. In states with
excellent renewable energy incentives, moderate wind and high electric rates,
such as Ohio, the payback can be as little as three years. Energy management,
HVAC and roofing company Roth Bros., Inc. of Youngstown installed and oversaw
commissioning of the WindCube and will provide 24/7 monitoring of energy usage
using an online remote system that it designed for this particular turbine.
