  TORONTO, ONTARIO, Jun 30 (MARKET WIRE) -- 
Duran Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE: DRV) is pleased to provide the
following corporate update resulting from the Annual and Special Meeting
of Shareholders held today.

    The four nominees as proposed by the Company were elected to the board.
The directors are Mr. John P. Thompson, Mr. Jeffrey J. Reeder, Mr. Joseph
Del Campo, and Mr. David A. Bending. The Company wishes to thank Mr.
David Goldman, Mr. David J. Libby, and Mr. Michael Gingles for their
service as directors since October 14, 2008.

    McGovern, Hurley, Cunningham, LLP Chartered Accountants were re-appointed
as auditors for the Company for the ensuing year.

    A majority of the disinterested (non-insider) shareholders approved a
resolution approving the continuation of the existing stock option plan
which allows cumulative stock option grants of up to 10% of the issued
and outstanding common shares of the Company.

    Subsequent to the Annual and Special Meeting, the Board appointed the
following officers:

    George A. Brown, Interim Chief Executive Officer

    Cary Pothorin, President

    Carmen Yuen, Interim Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer & Secretary

    The Board committee appointed to find a new Chief Executive Officer has
set out the following criteria for the ideal candidate:

    - previous experience as the CEO or President of a public listed
exploration company

    - previous experience in Peru or Latin America

    - working knowledge of the Spanish language

    - preferably an individual with a professional geologist or engineer
designation and a Qualified Person

    - preferably available to commence by August 31, 2009

    The Company expects to announce the new CEO in July with the transition
completed during August 2009.

    Duran Ventures is a junior exploration company working to advance and
develop the Aguila Copper-Moly Project to a 43-101 compliant resource
while continuing to actively evaluate new prospects and targets
throughout Peru.
