PORT LOUIS, June 30 (Reuters) - Mauritius has registered its first case of swine flu in a French tourist, the Indian Ocean's health minister said on Tuesday.

"The results of a test conducted in Mauritius has been confirmed by the World Health Organisation's London diagnosis centre," Minister Rajesh Jeetah told parliament.

The tourist was confined to his room for five days but released after receiving treatment.

A number of other African countries have already reported cases of the H1N1 virus from Egypt in the north to South Africa. (Reporting by Jean Paul Arouff)
