BofA's Merrill names head of China investment banking

HONG KONG, June 30 (Reuters) - Bank of America's (BAC.N) Merrill Lynch has named Erh Fei Liu as head of corporate and investment banking for China, according to an internal note from the bank.

Liu has has more than 25 years of China banking experience and began his career in New York in 1984 as one of the first China specialists to be based on Wall Street.

After two stints at Goldman Sachs (GS.N), Liu joined Merrill Lynch in 1999 from Credit Agricole Indosuez, where he was head of the investment banking group, the note said.

Liu, who is currently country executive for China, will be responsible for developing BofA's Merrill Lynch's corporate and investment banking business in the world's third biggest economy. (Reporting by Michael Flaherty; Editing by Lincoln Feast)
